There was a time when the prospect of photographing a wedding for friends made me a bit anxious. Somehow the responsibility just seemed to weigh more heavily when there was a personal connection influencing the dynamics.
These days I’m more relaxed about it and just enjoy the opportunity to do what I do best for people I care about. So as much as I’d been looking forward to the novelty of being an usher for my old friend Matt at his marriage to the lovely Louise, I was equally delighted to be asked to document their day too, with my role as usher becoming an honourary one!
The day started with preparations at the magnificent Petersham Hotel in Richmond, with the ceremony and reception taking place round the corner at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park itself and boasting tremendous views across London.
The following are a selection of my favourites from their beautiful late Autumn wedding day.
