Relaxed, natural family portrait photography

I love to shoot family portrait photography with very much the same documentary ethos as I apply to my wedding photography. Very natural and relaxed sessions allow me to capture your natural family dynamic and interactions, the end result being a collection of authentic and meaningful images that reflect your real personalities and the shared affection and energy between you.

That said, I also understand that if you’ve taken the trouble to gather together different family members you might also want to use the occasion to capture a few more structured and traditional portraits, albeit in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Most of my natural family photo shoots take place on location in a variety of outdoor spots around Bristol and the South West. You can choose a location that you particularly love or has meaning for you, maybe even your own home, or leave it to me to select one of my favourite spots.

Family Portrait Session Fee – £50

To secure your booking, a £100 deposit is required, which is included in the overall session fee. The remaining balance is due one week before the portrait session.

This fee is based on a photoshoot within a 30 miles radius of my base in Thornbury, north Bristol. If you’d like me to travel elsewhere in the UK or abroad, I’m happy to do so for an additional fee to cover travel expenses and time.

Family photo sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long. After the session, I will provide you with a curated selection of the best, natural portraits that capture each family member individually and the family as a whole. This collection usually includes between 75 and 100 beautifully edited images, which will be presented on a personalized website and cloud storage platform. Your images will remain accessible online indefinitely, allowing you to order and download files, print, frame, or create stunning albums or books.

Unframed Prints

Choose from prints made on Fuji Professional photographic paper in a variety of finishes, or fine art giclee prints made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag or Fujifilm Museum Rough  – prices start from just £3 and can be ordered directly from your own dedicated website.

Framed Prints

Choose from a wide and attractive choice of quality frames in natural wood, painted wood and metal finishes. Choose from three premium paper types for your print and have it matted or unmatted – prices start from £90 and can be ordered directly from your own dedicated website. 

Acrylic Prints

Books and Albums

Many families choose to create a valuable family heirloom from their photo session by having a selection of images presented in a beautiful book or album – prices start from £450.
