Caroline and Daniel tied the knot at the impressive and expansive Orchardleigh Estate, near Frome in Somerset. Orchardleigh boasts it’s own intimate church on site which Caroline and Daniel made full use of. The surrounding scenery was perfect for them to get away for a few minutes so I could get some pictures of them alone before returning to the main house for the reception. I vividly remember the enthusiasm they had for this aspect of my work when we first met so I knew the opportunity to get some creative portraits, along with the documentary coverage, would be important to them.
Whilst the ladies were getting ready, the chaps enjoyed some clay pigeon shooting in the grounds, returning to the house to spend a whole 20 minutes getting ready themselves! The beauty of a venue like Orchardleigh is that the bride and groom can get ready in the same building, so I can get pictures of both lots of preparations. Plus, it creates a subtle tension and excitement for everyone knowing the bride and groom are just rooms apart but unable to see each other until the ceremony.
Here are a few of my favourites from their day. Enjoy.
